Trentham Encounter

This is definitely not my first time in Trentham but since I'm not here for sports or on course, I have managed to experience and see a little more of the Trentham camp.

I've been here just a little over a week now... and this is what I've discovered so far...

1. The river trail is flat the whole way - perfect for a slow jog.
2. Te Papa doesn't have a gate that forces you to pay a $5 donation like the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
3. Swings x 2 and... a gix years old.
4. Drinking on Sunday is not a crime - The Junior Ranks Bar is open on Sundays.
5. Navy guys are not shy to admit that they are gay.
6. Traffic can be very bad - yes even on a Sunday afternoon.

Well... that's one week down, two more to go and I actually miss the *hole. (What a surprise!)

Ta.ra.na.ki. - It's been two years!

Thanks to Greg, I finally got to visit Taranaki again after two years.

This time I got to stay in New Plymouth for a couple of nights so I had a chance to look around the city.

Attempting to climb up to the summit is always exciting, unfortunately, the whether decided to take a turn so we have to turn back before we even got to Humphries Castle. - Maybe next time.

What I didn't expect from this trip was the Festival of Lights in Pukekura Park... it was beautiful... would have been a romantic walk if I have the right person with me. The waterfront walkway was a nice walk too - we even got to see some boy racers zoom pass us.

Overall, I have to say - New Plymouth is a city with its own character. And if my car didn't break down, this would have been a perfect week.
